Huge station with trains to many destinations. Long distance Bus station nearby. food and drinks available. Car hire agents do not open until 8.15 am so you need to wait in the station if you arrive on an early bus or train. Returning the car was easy- found a filling station nearby. Staff at drop off were friendly and checked the car quickly.

We were very impressed with the process of hiring a car with Sixt in Bordeaux, France. First and foremost, the customer service was five stars. Thank you, Stephane and Samantha! We hired our Fiat 500 electric car from Bordeaux Saint-Jean train station, and it was straightforward to find the rental companies with clear signage directing you through to the station. A very warm and friendly team, who definitely put the customer first, which is rare for hire car companies. The car was spotless and very reliable, and all pre-existing damage was documented to avoid any confusion on drop-off. We had the car for five days, travelling around the wine region, and we didn’t even need to charge the vehicle. You can pay a little extra to return it, not fully charged, which was a bonus. The process was very efficient from pickup to drop off, and the staff were an absolute pleasure to deal with each time. I definitely recommend using Sixt for your car hire.

The staff members at the Sixt counter were very friendly and helpful, even recommending places to get the best of Bordeaux's famous cakes called cannelés. However when it came time to fill the gas tank before returning our car, the Esso station they recommended we use was unstaffed, boarded up and barely operational, out of the 95 octane gas recommended for our car and rejecting our credit cards multiple times. We didn't have time to search for another gas station so we had to pay extra to have Sixt fill the tank. The Sixt attendant who took in the car said (in English) that he knew of the gas station. We're well aware of the fake credit card readers that criminals use to steal card data, and will be monitoring our accounts for unauthorized transactions. And we'll definitely think twice about using Sixt's service in the future.

Arrived at Bordeaux station from Paris and is a little walk over to Hall 3 where Sixt are located. Friendly welcome and very good English spoken by all the staff. I’d initially booked a manual a few months back but fancied paying extra for an Automatic as I drive one back home...and wanted to continue being lazy! Swift upgrade at a good price and I got a new Mercedes E220 - very nice! Sixt’s cars are up on the top of the car park and after a look round, with help with the cars functions from another friendly Sixt staff we were good to go. Car park a bit tight or could’ve been me being over cautious in a new Merc! Fantastic service from Sixt and sorry I didn’t catch the name of who looked after me, but impressed and will book with Sixt again. Merci!
